Hybrid Workshop – “ASL Fingerwording”
May 15, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
First, the interpreter creates an account and purchases the desired course(s) online at asllearn.com. See the specific links below. ASL Fingerwording is a text and coordinating course. Complete the online class portion, and ASL Learn will submit those CEUs on your behalf for RID, and you will get a certificate of completion for that course. You would submit your certificate(s) to QAST/EIPA. (This is basically the same format of any other online workshop you have taken. The certificate is auto generated right after you complete the class.)
Then, the interpreter can register for the OKRID online Zoom with the instructor. Molly O’Hara teaches the ASL Fingerwording. The live, online Zoom will allow an in depth practice and application of the concepts with the instructor and other participants. However, you cannot register for the live, online Zoom without having completed the online class portion first. It is a prerequisite. The online Zoom sessions will be from 8-10 am on the dates listed above, for up to 12 participants. If more than 12 are registered, then a 10am-12pm session will be added to accommodate the additional participants. Registration will require proof of completion of the online portion.
*The online class portion from asllearn.com can be completed at any time, at your convenience, up to 24 hours before the Zoom session.
*The OKRID partnered live, online Zoom sessions with instructors will be conducted in ASL without voice interpretation and will be worth .2 CEUs each, at a cost of $20 per participant.
Cost for book, shipping and course: $29.95, earn .3 CEUs. With the ASL Fingerwording Zoom on May 15, you’d earn an additional .2 CEUs, totaling .5 CEUs.)
Registration will open up soon for the online Zooms parts, but go ahead and get started on the courses at anytime!
